AberdoveyAberdovey lies in the northwestern county of Gwynedd in North Wales, an area bordered by the Irish Sea with a beautiful coastline and the stunning Snowdonia National Park at its heartland. It is a region of craggy mountains with lakes, rivers and waterfalls, dense forests and miles of golden sandy beaches. It is a large county though sparsely populated and has numerous visitor attractions with Portmeirion village, the film set for The Prisoner, Mount Snowdon the highest mountain in England and Wales and the Talyllyn Railway.

Attractions Talyllyn Railway Company, Wharf Station, Tywyn, Gwynedd LL36 9EY. Tel: 01654 710472. The Talyllyn Railway is a historic narrow-gauge steam railway, set in the beautiful Mid-Wales countryside. The line runs for seven and a quarter miles (11.8 km) through the beautiful Fathew valley. Running from Tywyn to Abergynolwyn and Nant Gwernol, the line passes the delightful Dolgoch Falls and there are excellent forest walks at Nant Gwernol. www.talyllyn.co.uk. About 5 miles north of Aberdovey.
