Attractions Warkworth Castle was built in the 12th century then rebuilt, and the gatehouse was added in the 13th century. The three storey keep was built during the late 14th century. It includes a great hall, chapel, kitchens, store rooms and various chambers. Although now in ruin it is open to the public (charges apply). The Castle is located in Warkworth village centre, rising steeply above the River Coquet. There is a car park. Tel: 01665 711423. About 6 miles south of Alnwick.
