Betws-y-Coed is the perfect base for exploring Snowdonia, sprawled across the flat plain around the confluence of the Conwy, Llugwy and Lledr valleys. Its lovely riverside setting is overlooked by the conifer-clad slopes of the Gwedyr Forest. Betws-y-Coed has shops which specialise in outdoor clothes, and the tourist centre provide maps and advice on day trips in the area and guided walks. At Betws-y-Coed railway station is Conwy Valley Railway Museum with a miniature railway, shop and restaurant.
