Doune Castle is an imposing Medieval castle built at the end
of the 14th Century for Robert Stewart, the first Duke of Albany.
Its most striking feature is the 100ft high gatehouse which includes
the splendid Lord's Hall with its musicians' gallery, double
fireplace and carved oak screen. The Castle was most famously
used as the setting for Monty Pythons Holy Grail. About 3 miles west of Dunblane. |
