Leven was once a busy fishing port at the mouth of the River Leven. It is located on the northern shores of the Firth of Forth, 6 miles north-east of Kirkcaldy, 10 miles south-west of St Andrews and overlooking the Largo Bay. Attractions Hill of Tarvit Mansion House NTS, Cupar, Fife KY15 5PB. Tel: 01334 653127. An early 20th-century family home remodelled in 1906 by the Scottish architect Sir Robert Lorimer around Mr F B Sharp’s collection of French and Chippendale-style furniture, porcelain and paintings. About 8 miles north of Leven.

Hill of Tarvit Mansion House

Attractions Scotstarvit Tower, near Cupar.Tel: 01334 653 127. Scotstarvit Tower is a six storey tower house with extensive views north over the River Eden valley and northern Fife. Scotstarvit Tower is normally locked, and the key can be obtained from Hill of Tarvit (see above)during its normal opening hours. Scotstarvit Tower is now cared for by Historic Scotland.
