Livingston was built around two villages, Livingston Village and Livingston Station (now called Deans South), and was the fourth of Scotland's five new towns built after the Second World War. Livingston is located 10 miles west of Edinburgh and 30 miles east of Glasgow. It is bordered by the towns of Broxburn to the east and Bathgate to the west.
