		Llandudno lies in the preserved county of Clwyd which includes Flintshire, Denbighshire, Wrexham County Borough, and Conwy County Borough. Located in the northeast corner of Wales, it is a hilly county with the Berwyn Mountains to the south, the Clwydian Range to the east and the river valleys of the Clwyd and Dee. Along the coast are the tourist resorts of Rhyl, Colwyn Bay and the great fortress town of Conwy, while other main towns are Wrexham, Denbigh, Mold, Ruabon and Flint. 	The Great Orme Tramway Tel: 01492 879306. The Great Orme Tramway has been delighting visitors since it opened on July 31st 1902. An engineering marvel of its age, it is still the only cable-hauled tramway still operating on British public roads. Trams run every 20 minutes, 7days a week. At the Halfway Station exhibition, discover the fascinating funicular tramway - then enjoy the spectacular ride to the top. www.greatormetramway.com. Location: In the centre of Llandudno.
	Aberconwy House, Castle Street, Conwy LL32 8AY. Tel: 01492 5592246. Dating from the 14th century this is the only medieval merchant's house in Conwy to have survived the turbulent history of the walled town for nearly six centuries. The furnished rooms reflect daily life from different periods in its history. Location: About 4 miles south of Llandudno.
	Plas Mawr, Conwy Tel: 01492 580167. At the heart of medieval Conwy stands Plas Mawr, the "Great Hall", built between 1576 and 1585 for the Welsh merchant Robert Wynn. This richly decorated building is an architectural gem, the finest surviving town house of the Elizabethan era in Britain. It is especially noted for the quality and quantity of its ornamental plasterwork, now fully restored to its original splendour. Location: About 5 miles south of Llandudno.
	Conwy Castle and Town Walls, Conwy Tel: 01492 592358. Constructed by the English monarch Edward 1 between 1283 and 1289, soaring curtain walls and 8 huge round towers give the castle an intimidating presence. There are breath-taking views from the battlements over the mountains and sea and down to the roofless shell of the castle's massive Great Hall. The circuit of town walls, over three-quarters of a mile long and guarded by 22 towers, is one of the finest in the world. Location: About 4 miles south of Llandudno.
