Some industry exists in Wallasey including flour milling and ship repairing, but Wallasey is primarily residential. A popular place to shop is The Cherry Tree Shopping Centre. Part of Wallasey is the holiday resort of New Brighton. Wallasey runs into Birkenhead, close to Liverpool via the ferry & tunnel, and is 15 miles north of Chester.
