The Scottish Borders are characterised by rolling
green hills, rich farmland, the meandering River Tweed and the
North Sea coast. Inland there are medieval abbeys, stately homes
and small stone-built towns amongst the folds of the hills. Traditional
wool-based industries still survive in the mill towns of Hawick
and Galashiels, while the picturesque towns of Jedburgh, Kelso
and Melrose are all splendid examples of abbey towns with stately
ruins. The Scottish Borders has so much open countryside
and coastline, and countless rivers and streams, there is no
shortage of facilities in the Borders for activities out of doors. Please go

and breakfast in the Scottish borders and self catering accommodation in the Scottish
borders. Towns listed on this page may be outside Scottish
borders. |
